Property sellers still taking time to adapt to new conditions

People looking to sell their house are still having to take the
time to adapt to the market, with the most difficult decision they
need to make being whether or not they are aggressive with their
pricing.
Hometrack reported this week that house prices in July fell thanks
to poor levels of buyers looking for homes, and this means that
many sellers are dropping their prices just to get rid of their
property.
Gary Styles, strategy, risk and economics director at Hometrack,
said that this is leaving a dilemma for people looking to move
house.
"I suppose it would come down to how quickly people want to sell in
the market. If you can afford to take time over it, then obviously
lowering the price may not be the best option, but it does largely
come down to how quickly you want to transact."
He went on to say that the most important thing is to remember that
it will all come down to realistic pricing, with the desire to
price too high likely to become a thing of the past.
